On Saturday, November 6, 2021, Dr. David Schweidel and visual artist Mark Leibert kick-off an open-call hack-a-thon on how machine learning helps us quantify the space between “perfect” and “unfiltered” images and how to capture the hidden cost of social media influence.
About This Event
As part of Science Gallery Atlanta’s HOOKED exhibition season programming, Dr. David Schweidel and visual artist Mark Leibert are hosting a virtual hackathon experience that addresses how social media creates an addictive alternate reality space that is monetized by brands and individuals. This design challenge encourages participants to use machine learning to help demonstrate and quantify the space between “perfect” and “unfiltered” images, and how companies monetize that gap. This hackathon is geared toward college-level students with interests in art, design, software design, user experience design, machine learning, and business.
