About This Event:
Calling all college students with interests in art, design, software design, user experience design, machine learning, and business!
We’ve got a challenge for you… (prizes are included!)
As part of Science Gallery Atlanta’s HOOKED exhibition season programming, Dr. David Schweidel and visual artist Mark Leibert are hosting a virtual hackathon experience that addresses how social media creates an addictive alternate reality space that is monetized by brands and individuals. This design challenge encourages participants to use machine learning to help demonstrate and quantify the space between “perfect” and “unfiltered” images, and how companies monetize that gap.
Submission Dates:
Challenge Opens: Monday November 8, 2021, 12:00pm ET
Challenge Closes: Monday, January 31, 2022, 11:59pm ET
What Should My Deliverable Include?
From a dataset that contains both original and manipulated images, your submission should demonstrate:
How you detect the nature of image manipulation.
Your algorithm to revert a manipulated image to its original content.
A video recording describing how you approached the problem and the process that you took.
Review a dataset example. Note: You do NOT have to use this, or any other dataset listed here. Feel free to generate your own dataset.
But Wait, There’s More. Prizes!
