Watch it back: our Science of Grief live event

We teamed up with Science Galleries in Detroit and Dublin to livestream Science of Grief – a three-hour online exploration of loss, hope and creativity, featuring scientists, poets, musicians, researchers, artists and healthcare workers. Emory’s one hour-long program can be viewed above. Please note this event is intended for over-18s.

This event marks the third iteration of Science of Grief, which began as a live all-night event by Science Gallery Detroit in collaboration with the Detroit Institute of the Arts, devised by poet Natasha Miller. The virtual program began at Science Gallery Dublin, and after an hour, the program moved to content from Atlanta and then Detroit; you can click through here to view the schedule in full.

If you would like to keep in touch with the Science Gallery network, we’re also seeking participants for a virtual Town Hall meeting to shape an international research project on grief, resilience, and the positive and negative effects of living during the COVID-19 pandemic. If you’re interested, you can fill in your details here.

This collaborative three-hour event was a first for the Science Gallery network - pioneered by Trinity College Dublin, this group consists of eight galleries based at leading universities worldwide, and united around a singular mission: to ignite creativity and discovery where science and art collide.
