IT’S TOO HOT, BUT IT’S NOT TOO LATE.
Join our global event fostering action for climate justice. #HotandBothered
HOT AND BOTHERED is a free, four-day event from July 14-17th 2022 across time zones that brings together young people across the globe to connect, exchange ideas and share knowledge to foster action for climate justice. We see climate change for what it is: a crisis. But the event aims to create an optimistic and joyful space where young people can change agents to reduce climate hopelessness and generate alternative narratives. Grounded in intersectionality, HOT AND BOTHERED celebrates the diversity of young people both in their identities and their approaches to climate action.
Science Gallery has found a growing audience hungry for what they have to say and wants to empower those young people with the connections and skills they need to imagine and safeguard their futures in a climate-altered world. Everyone worldwide is invited to register:
While it can be painted as distracting and futile, we want to foster joy in action for environmental justice, as we believe the sharing of enjoyment has a remarkable impact on movement building and activism work. Science Gallery created an open call for proposals for sessions to contribute to the event, focusing on contributions from young people. You'll find scientists, students, activists, environmental educators, designers, artists, and more. Workshops and events at HOT AND BOTHERED include:
Learn how to make climate data visualizations to share stories about climate solutions using the power of visual storytelling
Redesign your local neighborhood in a physical scavenger hunt and share your findings with a global community
Enter a giant bacterium in the digital space to discover the impact of climate change through the evolution of microorganisms.
Join a live stream and interact with the creators and players of a board game exploring young people's current and near-future aspirations faced with multiple disadvantages in the current climate crisis.
Based on the prediction that Mumbai will be underwater by 2050, participate in an interactive online performance to co-create backup plans for survival.
Join an interactive film screening and discuss in real-time with fellow change-makers about the climate emergency
