This yoga class will explore the intersection of mental health and social justice. We will use yoga as a tool to connect with our bodies, minds, and spirits, and to cultivate compassion for ourselves and others. RSVP below, and note that there are two (2) separate sessions: one at 11am and a repeat session at 4pm. Please only sign up for one session.
The class will begin with a brief introduction to yoga and its relationship to mental health. We will then move into a series of yoga poses that focus on mindfulness, relaxation, and strength. Throughout the class, we will explore the following themes:
1. The impact of social injustice on mental health
2. The importance of self-care for mental health
3. The power of community for mental health
The class will end with a guided meditation and discussion. This class is open to all levels of experience. No prior yoga experience is necessary. To register for the class, please visit the Science Gallery website.
